  • You may want to grab a copy of Metasploitable 2; this is a system designed to test your skills with various penetration testing tools. For details, see the blog post of HD Moore.
  • Spider Labs has a nice post that shows hoe to use Metasploit to attack a Windows system running MSSQL.
  • Those of you who want some practice time attacking web applications might be interested in a list of vulnerable web apps you can attack at home.
  • Back in May, we mentioned CVE-2012-0779, an attack on Adobe Flash. Back then, there were no publicly available exploits, but now it is part of Metasploit, at least for XP targets. They have a nice blog post that describes how they came up with the Metasploit module.
